Based on 168 reviewsThe Farmhouse consistently receives praise for its inviting atmosphere and friendly, attentive service, creating a welcoming environment for both locals and visitors. Its menu is noted for a diverse selection of well-prepared dishes, particularly breakfast items and gourmet muffins, which customers often describe as exceptional in flavor and quality. Desserts generally garner positive feedback, though some variability in sweetness and texture is occasionally mentioned. The establishment’s commitment to rotating muffin flavors adds a dynamic appeal that encourages repeat visits. While most food experiences are highly regarded, there are occasional remarks about specific dessert items falling short compared to others. Overall, The Farmhouse is recognized as a charming local spot that balances homely ambiance with consistently flavorful offerings and personalized customer care.
Good restaurant with an excellent menu. We were impressed by the selections. We loved the chicken wings and smash burger. We also recommended the chocolate client. The staff was very friendly, and the atmosphere was excellent.
As a queenstown local I can say that I have found the BEST muffin place!! I came the first time and had a glorious blueberry muffin, so I came back one week after to have my muffin of the week and I discover that they changed the muffin and that they go changing the flavor of the muffin (each week I guess), and that cannot be more awesome I simply love it!! And will come back each week for my sweet treat!! The coffee is amazing to and they use wolf coffee which is the best local coffee. Amazing work guys! Keep it up
The desserts were delicious but I was looking for a birthday cake that came in pieces. I've had it here before and it was delicious. Thank you to the bakery chef. I'd like the shop to come back and sell birthday cakes. I'll be waiting and I can feel the care of the bakery chef lovely
Local joint with marvellous breakfast! Had egg benedict and it was served on soft fluffy brioche toast. Hollandaise sauce was just right unlike some leaning towards too sour. Ordered extra side of sausage tasty and very homemade gourmet. Interior was homey and clean! Loves it
Visited partly because we were amused by the owner's passionate responses to disgruntled reviewers. Big breakfast and drinks were nice but the chocolate banana muffin.. phenomenal. Crusty outside, moist inside and unequivocally the best muffin I've tasted. That other dessert, the apple shortcake was unfortunately a bit too chalky and sweet.
We visited The Farmhouse Café in Queenstown and ordered the salad, ribs, and loaded fries. Although the wait for the food was quite long, it was definitely worth it, the ribs were tender and flavourful, the loaded fries were a satisfying treat, and the salad was fresh and well-balanced. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal. A great spot to unwind and enjoy hearty food, just be prepared for a bit of a wait.
I've only visited here twice, but each time it was great - even though on both days it was very busy and very hot. The food was excellent, much better than I expected for a cafe/restaurant/bar setup, served promptly and tasted great (I had the burger on the second visit). On a sunny day its a great, casual location to sit outside. Whilst its not Macdonalds prices, it was way cheaper than I thought it would be, given the relatively upmarket location. Only downside was the coffee was a bit lukewarm, but didn't really care because I was burning up in the sun anyway .
They offer breakfast, lunch and bar food. Food is good, I went here for breakfast. I had their big breakfast which was very filling. The way they cook their poached egg is to die for. One of the best poached egg I had in my life. Everything on the plate was good, however I wasn’t a fan of the rosti. It was too hard to slice it properly. My partner enjoyed their chicken waffle. I also ordered an iced matcha latte which was a 6/10 for a matcha. It didn’t taste like the authentic ones. They offer indoor and outdoor dining. Unfortunately it was raining when we went, but you’ll get a good view of the mountain when seated outside. The place looks clean and the ambiance is inviting. You can also bring your dogs and kids get to enjoy little activities here and there. There’s parking in the cafe but very limited. There’s off street parking too but what are the chances. The road gets busy in the morning. Overall, we glad we found this cafe. We enjoyed the food and the staff were nice.
